High Wind Causes Downed Trees Across Atlanta Area
By · CommentsHigh winds are causing several trees to fall around the area today. Many of these fallen trees have impacted traffic.
Here is the latest list of traffic problems:
Major Interstate Incidents:
•Atlanta: Truck Fire…I-20/wb at Lowery Blvd…3 right lanes blocked.
•Fulton Co.: Tree Down…I-285/eb ramp to Ashford Dunwoody Rd.
Major Highway & Surface Street Incidents:
•Dekalb Co.: Tree Down…Memorial Dr. at Venice Dr…3 lanes of Memorial Dr. are blocked.
•Dekalb Co.: Lights Out…Peachtree Industrial Blvd. between Chamblee Tucker Rd. and Johnson Ferry Rd.
•Fulton Co.: Tree Down…Long Island Dr. at Mt. Paran Rd.
•Atlanta: Tree Down…West Wesley Rd. at Habersham Rd.
•Atlanta: Light Out…Peachtree Rd. at John Portman Blvd.
Weekend Traffic Report For April 20th
By · Comments- •All construction is weather-permitting and is as the GA-DOT reports it, so times, locations, and lanes blocked may change.
•DeKalb Co.: I-285/eb (Inner Loop) from Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. to Buford Hwy., in up to four right lanes from 9 p.m. Friday – 5 a.m. Monday. One of the ramps to Peachtree Industrial Blvd. (exit 31) and Buford Hwy. (exit 32) will be blocked through the weekend. Expect delays and take Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. to Buford Hwy. as an alternate.
•DeKalb Co.: I-285/nb (Outer Loop) from north of LaVista Rd. to Chamblee Tucker Rd., in the two left lanes from 9 p.m. Friday – 5 a.m. Monday. Expect delays.
•DeKalb Co.: I-285/wb (Outer Loop) ramp to Ashford Dunwoody Rd., in the left lane from 9 p.m. Friday – 5 a.m. Sunday.
•Gwinnett Co.: Hwy. 324/Gravel Springs Rd. Bridge Work…I-85/nb/sb north of Hwy. 20. One lane is blocked in each direction from 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. each overnight and traffic will be paced several times each night, starting at 12 a.m. This will occur each night, thru April 24th.
•Atlanta: The Dogwood Festival will be at Piedmont Park all weekend. Expect extra traffic on Piedmont Ave., Monroe Dr., 10th St., and other Midtown surface streets. With parking at a premium, take MARTA to get to the festival.
